Important notice

With reference to the previous blog, 'Figuring out your modus operandi'. A team of three will be formed for each of the options listed out. They will approach the seniors who have done well in that particular field. Anyone interested in collecting information in their subject of interest please message the CR along with your area of interest.

Please submit the list of questions that you would like to ask our seniors, to the CR or any of the placement coordinators by 16th Jan. We will be approaching them this weekend(17th and 18th Jan).

A spreadsheet will be prepared containing the answers to your questions and other suggestions given by them.

Interactive sessions will also be held in class next week.

Figuring out your modus operandi

Ok, we are one semester away from placements,CAT, GRE and what not. Are we working towards what we want to achieve or just going with the flow to complete 6th semester?

It would be awesome if we had a success formula to reach our goal.

The probable options that we have are:
i) Being placed in :
a)Electrical core
b)Electronics core
c)the IT sector
d)a consultancy job
ii)To crack CAT and other MBA entrances
iii)To max GRE
iv)To top GATE

We should probably create a database of how and what we have to prepare from now on, so that we can win before its game, set and match.

Our seniors have gone through what we are going to go through. A team should be formed which will approach the seniors and find out what they did and what they want us to do to improve our chances. This information will be circulated to the entire class.

Its a cruel world out there and we surely don't want to jump into it blind folded, right?

Some important info regarding placement

 Hi all... firstly happy new yr to everyone.. today there was an all pc's meeting wid final yr pcs.. these are the few important issues which were discussed in today..

companies which come 4 placements are categorized into 3 groups.. viz., 1 core 2 normal 3 open

1.Core: Once u get placed in any core company u r not supposed to sit 4 one more company irrespective of the pay of core company in which u hav already placed.

2.Normal: Any company (not core) which pays less than 6lakhs p.a is considered as normal company. If u get placed in normal company u can sit for ur 2nd placement..

3.Open: Any company(not core) which pays more than 6 lakhs p.a is considered as open. once u get palced in an open company u r not allowed to sit 4  2nd placements.

and one more thing we will be meeting our HOD to discuss abt internships.. so ppl having contacts wid companies pls give their contacts. we ll request our HOD to mail those ppl to offer us interns
